Textual analysis 2

'The second student magazine i have decided to analyise is called 'Student Times'. This magazine immediately looks more sophisticated than the 'Student ID' magazine that i last evaluated. The masthead is 'Student Times' and this is big and bold, which draws your attention to it.

There is a big picture of Peter Kay dressed as a woman, and the cover line underneath it is 'Comedy, the K-Factor, Peter Kay- The bloke from Bolton is back!' The text is is white and red bold font, which makes it clearer to see and stands out on the page.

Other Cover lines include 'TONI&GUY' and this persuades people to buy the magazine because it has special offers, and this generally reels people in.
There is a banner at the bottom of the page, and this advertises travel deals and information, which is appealing for students, because generally students have to travel to get to college.
There is a strapline, however it is not in the usual expected place, it is near the bottom of the page, underneath the picture of Peter Kay. This basically outlines what is in the magazine, and this is an advantage because it tells students what is in the magazine, and they therefore can decide whether to buy it or not.
